Artist Profile

Joseph Lukomski

Mediums: Watercolor, Pencil and Graphite, Painting, Drawing, Colored Pencil

A native of Michigan, Joe Lukomski began painting in watercolors as a child and held an art exhibit at seven years-old for his Detroit neighbors. However, the demands of life in the subsequent years allowed for only brief opportunities to produce art. That changed significantly when in 2002 he retired from the Information Technology Office at Ford Motor Company.

Joe took several drawing and painting classes at Washtenaw Community College and other art centers which rekindled his love of painting and honed his skills. He expresses his gratitude to his principal art teachers Susan Bloye and Cristina Mezuk for their inspiration and encouragement.

A couple of years back Joe embraced Paul Cézanne as his muse and began interpreting in watercolors many of Cézanne\'s oil paintings. He incorporates Post-Impressionist techniques in many of his original watercolors designs as well. Joe also paints Works of Fantasy and other themes. Facebook users can review his original paintings at his virtual gallery on Facebook page Café Guerbois.
