Mediums: Painting, Drawing
Yoshiko Mishina originally moved from Japan to USA in 1992. She has lived in Houston, TX; Cary, NC; and Saline, MI. Clearly, her family is moving to colder places one after another (Yoshiko's final residence will possibly be the North Pole!). She currently lives in Saline (a small cozy town near Ann Arbor, the home of University of Michigan) with her workaholic scientist husband, two kids, one naughty dog and one lazy cat.
Yoshiko has trained herself extensively, and learned drawing at an art center in Saline, MI. She learned the basics of drawing, colored pencil, watercolor, and pastel, and wants to continue to explore a variety of mediums. She recently learned to paint with oils and is enjoying her recent works in this new medium.
Yoshiko is a challenger who never stops, and she has kept her career as an artist fresh and productive by joining many groups (including the Ann Arbor Women Artists), with plans to join more organizations as she learns to work with more mediums.
