Critique Groups
AAWA’s members have created a variety of critique groups to offer constructive advice to one another. In most critique groups, members take turns hosting the group in their home (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly). Members of the critique group will each bring a piece of work that’s still in progress and ask the group for constructive advice. Listed below are AAWA’s current critique groups with openings:
ART DISCUSSION GROUP
Media focus: all media welcome
Meeting frequency: once monthly
Meeting time: 2nd Saturday of the month at 11am

This is group was started by Katie Halton, modeled after her friend Shara's group, SEEK ATL. Each month a different artist will host a studio visit, gallery visit, museum trip, art project, whatever! We'll get together and give feedback, toss around ideas, mention upcoming exhibitions and build a sense of COMMUNITY. All are welcome!
ART DU JOUR
Media focus: 2D (prints, painting, collage, drawing) & 3D
Meeting frequency: twice monthly at 4022 Glacier Hills Drive S. in Ann Arbor
Meeting time: the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm
Current population: 10 (with 5 usually attending)

PLEASE NOTE: All the members of this group are longtime artists. This is not a good group for beginners.
MIXED MEDIA CRITIQUE GROUP
Media focus: 2D & 3D
Meeting frequency: once monthly
Meeting time: 1st Monday of the month at 7pm, Sept through June (no meetings in the summer).
Current population: 14 (with 7 usually attending)
