iPhone Photography Workshop

The best camera is the one that you have in your pocket and these days, if you have a phone, you have t hat camera. The photos you take on your mobile phone are as valuable as the ones taken on your DSLR.
This workshop will help you do is use your iPhone to create beautiful, professional-looking photographs. It will equip you with the skills to take control of the iPhone, rather than rely on its auto functions. It will give you the confidence to capture the shot, wherever you are, day or night. I will also share with you the easy ways to connect to a computer for sharing and archiving of your iPhone photographs. Contact Sarah Merkle (see Member Directory).
3 Day Figure Drawing Marathon

Dates: June 8, 9, 10, 2017 (Thursday-Saturday) from 9-5 each day
Join us for three extraordinary days of life drawing with two models and 21 hours of drawings and critiques. You may never see drawing the same way again!
Awaken, intensify and reinvent your exploration of art making, lead by artist/teacher Nick Reszetar. This weekend-long workshop will enrich your skills and perception of figure drawing and art making. Be intellectually challenged and stimulated by extensive group and individual dialogue. Participants will reach an extraordinary level of commitment. There are a limited amount of spaces available, so reserve your spot now by emailing Sarah Merkle (see Member Directory).

Life Drawing at the AAWA Studio – Join us at the AAWA studio space at 4844 Jackson Rd., Ann Arbor:
The following days and times change throughout the year depending on demand. Please verify with the coordinators.
Mondays 9:30-12:30; Tuesday NIGHTS 6:30-9:30, and Wednesday long pose 10-3:30.
Monday or Tuesday sessions are $15 drop-in or $60 for all 6 sessions of either. Wednesday long pose is divided into two 2-1/2 hr sessions (same pose) and is $13 drop-in for each half or $50 each half for the full 6 sessions.
We now have the Universal Card which can be purchased to buy 6 sessions to use any day for $65. Up to 2 unused punches can be carried over to the next six sessions.

Non-Instructed Life Drawing/Painting – Life drawing is an exercise that benefits all creative mediums, and this group hires a model for non-instructed sessions each week. There’s a $5 drop-in fee, and the group meets every Saturday from 10am – 1pm at Eastern Michigan University in the Sherzer Building, Room 201.
Plein Air Painting Sessions– AAWA artists meet monthly to paint/draw outdoors in various local beauty spots. Sessions normally begin at 10am and end when you’re done. Bring lunch, art materials, and whatever the weather calls for. Come paint/draw, have lunch, have fun, and follow this great art tradition. Portrait Studio Sessions – Portraiture presents the greatest challenge to the artist… and offers the most satisfaction. This group meets weekly at the Northfield Senior Center on Main Street in Whitmore Lake on Mondays from 1:00pm to 3:30pm for clothed figure drawing/painting. $6 fee.
