AAWA members have created a variety of critique and discussion groups to offer constructive advice to one another.
 
In most critique groups, members take turns hosting the group in their home (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly).  Members of the critique group will each bring a piece of work that’s still in progress and ask the group for constructive advice.
 
Also available are discussion groups that may or may not include critique, but expand into other art topics.  Listed below are AAWA’s current groups with openings:
 
ART DU JOUR
Media focus:   2D (prints, painting, collage, drawing) & 3D
Meeting frequency:  twice monthly at 4022 Glacier Hills Drive S. in Ann Arbor
Meeting time:  the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm
Current population:  10 (with 5 usually attending)

PLEASE NOTE:  All the members of this group are longtime artists.  This is not a good group for beginners.
 
MIXED MEDIA CRITIQUE GROUP
Media focus:   2D & 3D Meeting frequency:  once monthly
Meeting time:  1st Monday of the month at 7pm, Sept through June (no meetings in the summer).
Current population:  14 (with 7 usually attending)

PASTEL CRITIQUE GROUP
Media focus:  2D pastel drawing/painting
Meeting frequency:  once monthly at Story Point Senior Living Facility, 6230 S. State St., Saline, MI 48176
Meeting time:  3rd Friday of the month, 1-3 pm  (2018/19 meetings: Nov, Jan – May)
Current population:  6 (looking forward to growing)
